According to temple legend as Goddess Mahalakshmi emerged on the golden lotus as Padmavathi Devi located at the centre of Padmasarovaram-the temple tank, this place became famous by the name “Alarmelmangapuram”. The mangalagiri temple timings are 07:00 am to 04:00 pm. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Mahalakshmi, wife of Lord Vishnu.
